Product Description
Weathering steel, that is, atmospheric corrosion-resistant steel, is a low-alloy steel series between ordinary steel and stainless steel. Weathering steel is made of plain carbon steel with a small amount of corrosion-resistant elements such as copper and nickel. It has the toughness and plasticity of high-quality steel. Extension, forming, welding and cutting, abrasion, high temperature, fatigue resistance and other characteristics; weather resistance is 2 to 8 times that of normal carbon steel, and paintability is 1.5 to 10 times that of normal carbon steel. At the same time, it has the characteristics of rust resistance,corrosion resistance and longevity of components, thinning and consumption reduction, and labor and energy saving. Weathering steel is mainly used for steel structures exposed to the atmosphere for a long time, such as railways, vehicles, bridges, towers,photovoltaics, and high-speed projects. Used in the manufacture of structural parts such as containers, railway vehicles, oil derricks, seaport buildings, oil production platforms, and containers containing hydrogen sulfide corrosive media in chemical and petroleum equipment.

Surface Treatment
Weathering Steel can be exposed to the atmosphere without painting. It begins to rust in the same way as ordinary steel. But soon the alloying elements in it cause a protective surface layer of fine-textured rust to form, thereby suppressing corrosion rate.
Weathering steel exhibit a good resistance to corrosion than ordinary steel, it has smallest alloy elements not like stainless steel and its price is more cheaper than stainless.In this way. The weathering steel helps to reduce lifecycle costs and environment burdens in a wide range of applications.
Applications
Weathering steel is mainly used for steel structures exposed to the atmosphere for a long time, such as railways,

Because the special dense oxide layer that can be formed on the surface of weathering steel plate has a stable and uniform natural rust red color, this makes it an attractive building exterior wall material that can be used to make various landscape curtain walls. It can be seen in applications such as landscape bridges, steps, sculptures, guide signs, planting ponds and other landscape sketches.
